Payroll, insurance & banking

Payroll, social insurance and your capital account

Hiring in Vietnam means monthly payroll, personal income tax, compulsory insurance and labour paperwork. Foreign-owned companies also have to move capital, loans and profits through a special bank account. We run both.

Monthly payroll

  • Payroll calculation and payslips for Vietnamese and foreign staff
  • Personal income tax withholding: progressive rates for tax residents, a flat 20% for non-residents
  • Registration and monthly declarations for social, health and unemployment insurance
  • Labour contracts, internal labour rules and staff onboarding documents
  • Year-end PIT finalisation and tax certificates for employees

Compulsory insurance

Vietnamese employees on contracts of one month or more are covered by social, health and unemployment insurance, with combined employer and employee contributions of about 32% of the insured salary. Foreign employees holding a work permit and a labour contract of 12 months or more must join social and health insurance as well. We register each employee and keep the contribution base correct when salaries change.

Direct investment capital account (DICA)

A foreign-invested company must open a direct investment capital account at a licensed bank in Vietnam. Capital contributions from abroad, offshore loans and profit remittances to the foreign owner all have to go through it. We help you choose a bank that is used to FDI clients, prepare the opening file and explain which payments go through which account.

  • Capital contribution within 90 days, with matching bank evidence
  • Registration of medium- and long-term offshore loans with the State Bank
  • Remitting profits abroad after the annual tax finalisation and audit

Questions about this service

Can the parent company send money into the normal current account?

No. Capital contributions must go into the DICA. Payments sent to the wrong account may not count as capital and can be hard to correct.

When can we send profits back to the parent company?

After the annual financial statements are audited, the tax finalisation is filed and no accumulated losses remain. Interim remittances are not allowed.

Do you also handle a single foreign employee?

Yes. Many clients start with one director on payroll. The monthly service scales as you hire.
