FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what foreign founders ask us most. For your own case, send us a message and a consultant will reply within one working day.
How long does it take to open a foreign-owned company in Vietnam?
Usually 4 to 8 weeks from a complete document set for the investment and enterprise registration certificates, plus 2 to 3 weeks for the seal, bank accounts and tax setup. Legalising foreign documents often takes longer than the licensing itself, so we start it first.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the company type, the business lines, the city and whether the investor is an individual or a company. After a free consultation we send a fixed written quote that lists every government fee and service fee.
Can a foreigner own 100% of a company in Vietnam?
Yes, in most manufacturing and service sectors. Some business lines cap foreign ownership or need a Vietnamese partner. We check your exact activities first.
Do I have to be in Vietnam to set up the company?
No. You can sign in your home country and give us a power of attorney. Bank account opening may require you or your legal representative in person, depending on the bank.
Do you speak Korean and Chinese?
Yes. Our consultants work in English, Korean and Chinese, and every Vietnamese document we file can be explained or translated for you.
Does the company need to file tax returns before it earns revenue?
Yes. Tax returns are due from the first period after registration, even when they are nil. Late or missing returns are fined.
Can I use a virtual office?
In many cities a serviced or virtual office is accepted if the building is permitted for business use. Apartments in residential buildings cannot be used as a head office.
Is an audit required every year?
Yes. Foreign-invested companies must have annual financial statements audited by an independent audit firm and file them within 90 days of the year end.
Can you take over the accounting of an existing company?
Yes. We review the books and past tax filings, correct what is needed and continue monthly.
Do you provide a legal representative or nominee director?
We do not act as nominee owners. We can explain the legal-representative rules and how a resident director can be appointed.
