Accounting & tax

Monthly accounting and tax for foreign-owned companies

Every company in Vietnam keeps books under Vietnamese Accounting Standards and files tax returns electronically, whether it earns revenue or not. We take the whole cycle off your hands and report to you in English, Korean or Chinese.

What is included every month

  • Recording invoices, bank transactions and expenses in a VAS-compliant ledger
  • Checking supplier e-invoices so input VAT can be claimed
  • VAT returns (monthly or quarterly) and personal income tax withholding returns
  • Quarterly provisional corporate income tax calculation
  • A management report in your language: revenue, costs, cash and taxes due

Year-end, audit and transfer pricing

Foreign-invested companies must have their annual financial statements audited by an independent audit firm. We prepare the statements, work with the auditor and file the tax finalisation. If your Vietnamese company trades with or borrows from related companies abroad, we prepare the transfer pricing disclosure and, where required, the documentation.

Chief accountant service

The law requires a company to appoint a chief accountant or to hire a licensed accounting service provider to perform that role. Our licensed partner can take on this role for you, which is usually cheaper than hiring a full-time chief accountant in the first years.

Cleaning up past years

Taken over a company with missing filings, or changed accountants? We review the books, fix past returns and prepare the company for a tax inspection or audit.

Questions about this service

Do I need to file tax if the company has no revenue yet?

Yes. Returns are due from the first period after registration even if they are nil. Missing them leads to fines and can block the company's tax code.

What is the corporate income tax rate in Vietnam?

The standard rate is 20%. Lower rates and tax holidays are available for incentivised sectors and locations, such as high-tech projects or some industrial zones.

Can you work with our head office's accounting system?

Yes. We keep the statutory Vietnamese books and also map them to your group's chart of accounts, so you can consolidate each month.
